Making the most of the end of the Summer.

We spent the day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Here is Treven on his first hike. He doesn't look all that comfortable to me but everyone swore that he was happy and comfortable. He must have been fine because he enjoyed the whole 3 1/2 hour hike without making a peep.


Here are the girls just before we got to Alberta Falls. Nicole looks a little nervous because what you can't see next to them is a 100 ft vertical drop.


After the hike we went on a tram ride in Estes Park. We were lucky to get a ride since they were about to close and their credit card machine had just broken. Sadie could barely contain her sinister laughs as we sped up the mountain.

The girls climbed this interesting rock formation we found while hiking around in Wyoming.

Madison's First Swim Meet

Madison's first swim meet was today and she did great. Her team won the medley relay quite handily and she also won her backstroke race.

Happy Birthday Abby!!!!!

Abby is now 10 years old! Can you believe how old she is getting? Abby and Howard went to a fishing derby for her birthday and she caught like 5 fish. They were no whales but just as fun to catch.

Treven's Blessing Day

Treven was blessed today, June 7th, 2009.

More smiles

Treven is a very happy baby and just keeps smiling more and more. He is also our most mellow baby (so far anyway). He'll just hang out and watch everyone for a long time without causing a fuss.

First Smiles

Treven has started smiling and we can't get enough of it. Unfortunately these moments don't last long enough for us though. It might be due to the fact that when he starts smiling we all rush over, crowd around him, and stuff cameras in in face ... but I don't know.



Sadie has a knack for getting good pictures of Treven and for a while she was the only one to actually catch him smiling on camera. This is one of hers.


Treven is excited to see some pictures of his closest cousin Emily. So far they have been somewhat lacking :) (hint ... hint)

Treven arrives home.

Treven and Nicole finally arrived home today and Treven immediately relaxed and fell right to sleep. Linda sent Treven the bouquet of cookies that the girls have enjoyed munching. It is good to be home!

BASKETBALL

Guess what guys? I am on my school basketball team! My first game was today and it was crazy. We lost, but it was fun, and besides, I made a great play. When the other team threw the ball to the person I was guarding, I jumped up in the air and caught the ball! Basketball is pretty fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Last Friday was my birthday!!!!!!!!!!! Me and my family went up to the cabin. We had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got some really cool stuff for my birthday, like this way cool set to make this super cool convertible!!!!! Isn't it awesome? It has a lot of functions too. It is way awesome!

Guernsey Wyoming - Pioneer Wagon Wheel Ruts

Bear Country

Bear Country is a drive through wild animal park near Rapid City, SD. We saw elk, arctic wolves, timber wolves, tons of bears, cougars, etc. It was very cool to see these animals up so close.

Cosmos Mystery Area

It's amazing what your brain does when gravity doesn't appear to be pulling you in the right direction. Seriously the minute you walk into this cabin you WILL be dizzy.

Mount Rushmore!!!

Mount Rushmore was awesome! A must see for everyone.

Sylvan Lake

Sylvan lake is a beautiful lake surrounded by really cool rock formations located in Custer State Park. The girls had a blast scaling all the rocks. This is the lake you see at the end of the National Treasure 2 movie.

Needles Highway

The needles highway was the last thing we were able to see at the end of our day in South Dakota. There were several long narrow tunnels we drove through that were narrow enough that we felt we needed to fold in the mirrors on the car. The picture below shows us on top of one of these tunnels. Again, the girls got pretty good at rock climbing at the end of the day.
