BASKETBALL

Guess what guys? I am on my school basketball team! My first game was today and it was crazy. We lost, but it was fun, and besides, I made a great play. When the other team threw the ball to the person I was guarding, I jumped up in the air and caught the ball! Basketball is pretty fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Last Friday was my birthday!!!!!!!!!!! Me and my family went up to the cabin. We had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got some really cool stuff for my birthday, like this way cool set to make this super cool convertible!!!!! Isn't it awesome? It has a lot of functions too. It is way awesome!

Bear Country

Bear Country is a drive through wild animal park near Rapid City, SD. We saw elk, arctic wolves, timber wolves, tons of bears, cougars, etc. It was very cool to see these animals up so close.

Cosmos Mystery Area

It's amazing what your brain does when gravity doesn't appear to be pulling you in the right direction. Seriously the minute you walk into this cabin you WILL be dizzy.

Mount Rushmore!!!

Mount Rushmore was awesome! A must see for everyone.

Sylvan Lake

Sylvan lake is a beautiful lake surrounded by really cool rock formations located in Custer State Park. The girls had a blast scaling all the rocks. This is the lake you see at the end of the National Treasure 2 movie.

Needles Highway

The needles highway was the last thing we were able to see at the end of our day in South Dakota. There were several long narrow tunnels we drove through that were narrow enough that we felt we needed to fold in the mirrors on the car. The picture below shows us on top of one of these tunnels. Again, the girls got pretty good at rock climbing at the end of the day.

Guinea Pigs!

The 6th grade has class pets now! I get to take care of them for the entire Labor day weekend. The black and white guinea pig is named Atila, and he is the other class' guinea pig. The other brown one, Peanut, is my class'. I like to hold them a lot. Peanut is so squirmy and is always hiding from me. He is scared.

1st day of school

Today was my first day of school. Early, huh? 6th grade is different, you have more homework, you have a homeroom teacher, and you keep switching classes. Also, can you tell me your birthdays? You'll understand why on your birthday.

Baseball game: Colorado Rockies vs Arizona Diamondbacks

Guys I went to a baseball game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so cool!! I went with my Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a hot dog so big it was like 2 hot dogs stuck together!! The game was really close!! Rockies won 6 to 5! Rockies hit 2 home runs. We were so close to the front seats! We could see the players really well!!! We had LOADS of FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the game my dad bought me a black baseball with a weird plastic coating on it! It had Colorado Rockies written all over it! The Rockies played really well. One Rockies guys lunged for and caught a super fast fastball!! We had the funnest time!!!!!!!!

Poudre Canyon Camping Trip

We went camping at Chambers Lake this past weekend and stopped to see Poudre Falls on the way home. The night before there was a massive downpour which hit just as we were finishing dinner. We were lucky to have our trailer with us and we spent the night listening to the rain crash into the top of the camper as we played Yahtzee. The next day the girls had fun fishing at the lake even though they didn't catch anything.

There are actually people that kayak down these falls if you can believe that. The pictures of the falls don't really do it justice, they are pretty thrasher.

Lizard

This is a lizard we tried to catch in Moab! If you grab its tail it will fall out and wiggle and the lizard can run away and grow another on! Also it is crazily fast, so we never caught it, but we caught a slower baby one!

Don't be jealous Greg...

...we probably would not have thought to take a picture of our night on the town had we not remembered our intrepid Guitar Hero Greg! Howard and I went last Wednesday night to see Rush at Red Rocks. You would not believe the absolutely beautiful setting that this concert took place in. Obviously this amphitheater was built before the era of the environmentalist because I am certain they would not allow anything to be built among the stunning red rocks of Denver any longer.

This was the most incredible show! Amazingly, I knew most of the music performed- I had forgotten I had gone through a Rush stint many years ago. Howard's favorite band has always been Rush and he has never seen them in concert. We had so much fun!! My personal favorite was the drum solo- Greg, you would have loved it! Neil Peart is amazing!

Powell Cuts

Father and Sons Campout

Brett and the boys went on the fathers and sons camp out. They had a lot of fun!!!

Congratulations Sadie!!

Sadie officially graduated from Kindergarten on Friday. The class sang many of the songs they learned over the year including one about the properties of magnets and one about the seven continents. They have learned a lot this year. We are so proud of her!!

New Vision Talent Show 2008

Abby did great in the New Vision talent show this past weekend. She sang "When There Was Me and You" from High School Musical. As you'll see it was a family affair as we all got into the Action. Abby of course was the star but Nicole played the piano while Madison flipped the pages of the music. It turns out that if Madison hadn't of been there to hold the pages on the piano they all would have fallen down. Good job Madison. I was of course manning the camera while Sadie was leading the cheering section. As you'll see Sadie took her job to heart.
